5.0 out of 5 stars Mamie LOVES Her Zoom Groom!, April 20, 2011
By
This review is from: Kong Zoom Groom For Cats (Misc.)
Customer Video Review Length:: 3:45 Mins

Here's a video of the Zoom Groom so you can see it in action! Mamie loves it and gives it her "paws up" approval. Ike likes it, too, but didn't stick around long enough for the demo. I love it because it's effective, easy to clean, and gives you bonding time with your kitty.

ETA: Two of my coworkers borrowed the Zoom Groom to see if their cats would like it. Two of the cats hated it (hissed) and one (the ragdoll) liked it. The two cats that didn't like it apparently don't like any kind of brush, and I think the one was still cranky from having burrs cut out of his fur after an "adventure" in the hedgerow. I would say that if your cat likes to get brushed, he or she will likely love this product. If not, then it may be a gamble.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing - worth every cent, April 20, 2008

I picked up one of these for my cat, who doesn't much care to be held, have her nails cut, etcetera. However, she loves this 'brush.'

Not only goes this magically work loose the hair, but it seems to give a good massage, and does a fairly good job of keeping the loose hair on the brush.

I've since purchased another of these, for a gift for my sister's cat (who seems to shed whenever he throws his massive bulk around) and two of the Zoom Groom For Dogs for two cockers my mother owns.

In all cases, they've worked wonders.

However, I have found that this brush is not as easy to handle as the one that is available for dogs.

Overall, I can't recommend this product enough; Kong sure knows how to make their products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Every Penny PLUS Some, May 16, 2010

(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
Hard to believe from looking at it, but this thing works. And when I say works I mean it works exceptionally well. Not just the kind of works like the mitt, wire brush or Furminator type products, true some of them work quite well. But I have them all and this thing outdoes them by far. Not only by results but by Cat appeal and appreciation also. Most pet shops carry these, probably charge a little more but saves on shipping charges.

Hard to believe a semisoft small rubber device with large protruding teeth on it will get out most of your cats excess hair, I know that I was very skeptical when I first saw it. That's until I tried it, now I am a true believer.

My cat did not usually care to get brushed with the other products, particularly his tummy and tail they where a total No, No. With the Zoom Groom he loves being brushed and to my surprise we can even brush his tummy and tail with very little hastle. We found the the best time to brush him is when he first... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but not ready for prime time, February 28, 2009

This review is from: SmartCat Multi-Level Cat Climber (Misc.)
What I great idea! I thought. A multi-level cat tree that does not take up half of the living room. And the picture of the kitties on it is so cute. Well, hold on before you click on the Buy button. The company needs to tweak this design. The darn thing refuses to lay flat against the door; it bows outward and the unit will actually sway when a cat jumps on it. The spring on the adjustable bracket is noisy and not sturdy enough to do the job. Combine swaying with noise, and guess what? Yeah, the cats act like the tree is a product from Cat He**. We're talking non-stop fluffed tails, ears pinned back and finally, avoidance of the tree at all costs. If you want to take your chances with this, go ahead. But it is really pricey to return, due to its weight. I'd wait until the 1.0 model is available, and pass up the beta that the manufacturer obviously has released.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great concept, poor execution, January 6, 2009
The unit is easy to assemble. The design flaw most likely occurred in order to make it more compact for shipping and stocking. Rather than a single board center support, the sisal wrapped center is 5 segments. Once assembled, the climber bows, which wouldn't occur if the core was one board rather than segments. Once hung on a door, the slight bow means that the climber isn't flush. Each time a cat jumps onto it, it bumps against the door. I was able to tighten the tension spring on the door mount to minimize this, but then damaged my door trying to get the unit back over it. Hanging would be easier with two people.

Secondly, the platforms are not that large. I have two adult cats weighing 9 and 14 pounds. Both cats looked rather oversized for it. As titled, it is a great concept, but nothing that neither me nor my cats cared for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for kittens, May 14, 2009
This climber is great if you live in an apartment and want to give your cats a dual scratching-post/climber without sacrificing space. I have two small kittens (11 weeks old) that took to it in no time. We will come home from work and find both of them on the top platform looking down at us. Note: If you have small kittens, you might want to initially help them figure out how to get down from the lower perches before leaving them alone with it - it is a little easier to get up than down.

The review critiquing the construction is correct. The unit would benefit from a solid back (after I move, I will be looking into a way to create my own backing for the climber), and the platforms, while large enough for two small kittens to sit on with each other, may be too small for large cats. The climber does sway a bit when the kittens initially jump on it - this is not for skittish cats. If you have a cat that would have no issue climbing a tree branch, then they'll have no problem... 5.0 out of 5 stars last longer, June 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Da Bird SUPER Refill: NEW refill from Go Cat (Misc.)
I have trouble with the claim that they spin/twirl more because of the extra feather. I've only used one of the two I bought, but that one that I used didn't twirl very much at all. That being said, I like the product and so does my cat. Even all chewed up, it still looks like a fleshed-out bird and my cat just as eagerly chases it as much as she did when it was brand new. This chewed up "bird" still gets the job done. This same cat liked the two-feather variety, but as soon as it got chewed up, she lost interest. So far, this three-feather bird has lasted her at least twice as long. Try it. Your cat will love you for it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lasts longer but *does not* flutter, February 12, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Da Bird SUPER Refill: NEW refill from Go Cat (Misc.)
This "super" refill has an extra feather in it and it does seem to last a little longer than the regular refills, but because it has that extra feather, it doesn't flutter in the air and my cats were not as interested in it.

They do really like it if I swish it across the floor -- they chase it and pounce on it. But if I swing it through the air, they just watch it and don't leap. As soon as I get out a regular refill with two feathers, they are leaping through the air again.

The flutter matters!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Cats Love These!, April 2, 2012

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Da Bird SUPER Refill: NEW refill from Go Cat (Misc.)
My Cats love Da Bird but unfortunately PetSmart no longer carries them so I purchased them off Amazon. I don't understand why others have said their Bird does not "FLUTTER," as ours does not have that problem. It is possible they received one that is defective. I cannot attest if these last longer as my two younger cats put a death bite on them.

Overall, my cats love them so I will continue to purchase them. I find this product GREAT for kittens as it gives you and your young cat an opportunity to play together and develop socially.
